Aspen, Colorado, USA – <\/strong>4<\/strong> mountains for <\/strong>1<\/strong> Hallelujah<\/strong><\/p>\n

Located on the Roaring Fork River 200 km southwest of Denver, Colorado, the small town of Aspen (population approx. 6000) is best known as a winter sports resort for celebrities and the wealthy. Against the beautiful scenery of the Aspen Mountain there are four independent ski resorts with such beautiful names as: Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands, Buttermilk and Snowmass. All equipped with excellent slopes, a delight for winter sports fans. But even the town of Aspen, today known for its glamour and glory, characterized by the typical red brick houses in the Victorian style, invites you to stay. It is also home to many feudal stores, boutiques and galleries, as well as magnificent hotels and cozy bars. Aspen is not only a winter destination, though; in summer, outdoor enthusiasts will find plenty of opportunities for hiking, biking, or horseback riding.<\/p>\n

  • Aspen’s Dark Side Ghost Tour<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

    A ghost and thrill tour of a special kind. On ” shoemaker’s racks” in the middle of historic downtown Aspen, a professional “guide” leads a smaller group and shows a completely different side of this town. A nighttime walk through the shady streets and dark places feeling like being part of the past, you listen to the horrifying story based on true events. An entertaining way to experience history live, but don’t forget the ghosts are waiting at every corner, behind every wall!<\/p>\n

    • Aspen’s past, a historical tour<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      Aspen’s past, like many Colorado towns located within a mountainous area was in mining, silver mining.  Immersed in local legends, the story is told of the characters, who made this town one of the greatest mining towns in the world. Local folklore and insider knowledge will be shared about the downtown Aspen area. The tour takes place whatever the weather will be, so dress appropriately according to the weather conditions.<\/p>\n

      • Maroon Bells – famous rock formation <\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        This rock formation, consisting of a series of distinctive, bell-shaped, wine-red peaks, rises up to 14,000 feet above the pristine glacial Maroon Creek Valley (Maroon River Valley). These are among the most photographed mountains in North America and were formed from rocks fractured by nature for more than 300 million years ago.<\/p>\n

        • Maroon Creek Trail – Marron Hiking Route<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          From April through September, this approximately 11 km out-and-back trail is best explored at your own pace. This trail can be completed in about 3.5 hours on moderate trails and is also easily reachable not only on foot, but also on horseback or by mountain bike.<\/p>\n

          • Independence Pass – Iconic Pass in the Mountains<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            The Independence Pass is located on the North American Continental Divide and connects Aspen with its neighbors to the east. This pass with a magnificent viewing platform is located on Highway 82 at an elevation of about 12 thousand feet. There are incredible views of Aspen’s mountains and valleys not only from the platform itself, but also all along this route.<\/p>\n

            • The John Denver Sanctuary \u2013 in honor of this famous American Country and Folk singer and songwriter.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

              The John Denver Sanctuary is located in the heart of Aspen. Its location near the Roaring Fork River makes this an ideal spot for quiet meditation or a family picnic. In memory of John Denver, who died tragically in 1997, the so-called “Song Garden” features many of his lyrics engraved into native river rocks and arranged in a perfect circle, symbolizing the circle of life as a musical score. Additionally, as a symbol of John’s spirit, a single Colorado Blue Spruce, the national tree of the state of Colorado, was planted in the center of this circle. As an innovative stormwater filtration system, the man-made wetlands and meandering-through-nature creeks cleanse the water before it drains into the Roaring Fork River. Within this facility there is also one of the largest perennial flower gardens, which is open to the public. These beautiful gardens begin blooming in late May \/ early June, a perfect place for small gatherings or even a secret wedding location.<\/p>\n

              • Silver Queen Gondola – the longest single-deck gondola in the world.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                In 1987, this gondola was opened to the public. In just 15 minutes, it takes you 3,267 vertical feet for a total distance of 2.5 miles from downtown Aspen way up to the top of the Aspen Mountain (11,200 feet). Once being at the top, a variety of hiking and biking trails, a full-service restaurant, and a live music stage are waiting to be discovered. You’ll also be rewarded with amazing views of the Maroon Bells Mountains.<\/p>\n

                • Maroon Bells Scenic Trail | Maroon Nature Trail – has yet to be explored<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

                  The Maroon Bells Scenic Trail #2197, also called the Maroon Bells Scenic Loop, is an easy 1.5-mile loop trail in the Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness mountain range. The different sections of this trail are identified on maps and on signs by exclusive names, such as Maroon Lake Trail, Falls Loop Trail, and Upper Scenic Loop Trail. A special important note for dog owners: to avoid pet-wildlife conflicts, please do not take your dog on the Scenic Loop Trail at Maroon Lake!  At the end of Marron Lagoon is a bridge that leads into the aforementioned Maroon Bells-Snowmass Wilderness. There are many waterfalls and smaller lakes here. The addition of “loop” means that these routes each loop back to the starting point, so don\u2019t worry, you will never get lost.<\/p>\n
